What does the cost of attendance mean?

Widgets

The cost of attendance at UW-Eau Claire varies based on individual student circumstances. A student's financial aid offer is based on their estimated cost of attendance which includes expenses directly billed by the university (i.e. tuition and fees, residence hall fee, if living in university housing, and a meal plan) and non-billed education expenses (i.e. transportation, books and supplies, miscellaneous and personal expenses, loan fees, and license or certification costs, if applicable). If living off campus and/or you do not purchase a meal plan, the cost of attendance will include allowances for housing and food along with the other components. The cost of attendance is only used for financial aid purposes and will not necessarily reflect actual charges. UW-Eau Claire publishes tuition and fees once they are finalized (usually mid-July for the upcoming fall term).
